SPLATOON: INK LIKE NO ONE IS WATCHING
Splatoon for the Wii U is splashing down on May 29th, and to celebrate we’re giving you exclusive sneak previews of what to expect. In Splatoon, you get to take control of an Inkling (half kid/half squid) intent on coloufully marking their territory in multiple playing modes. It’s an all-out turf war - May the best mess win!
To Squid or not to Squid?
Squid Tactic Tip o’ the Week
Have you gotten a little too blast happy and found yourself with an empty ink tank? You could hide and risk getting blasted by a rival Inkling OR you can transform into a squid and reload twice as fast while you swim!
Squiding is awesome but let’s be honest, sometimes you just wanna BLAST STUFF. When playing Splatoon, you can equip yourself with weapon sets comprised of a main weapon, a sub weapon and a special weapon.
Main Weapon o’ the Week: Blaster
Your enemies can run, but they can’t hide when you’re packing the Blaster! The Blaster shoots special ink rounds that burst like fireworks after a certain distance.
Sub Weapon o’ the Week: Burst Bomb
Sometime it’s all about quantity, and not quality. Burst Bombs may be small and not that powerful, but they can be thrown repeatedly without taking up much ink.
Special Weapon o’ the Week: Kraken
Release the Kraken! (That never gets old). Have you got a lake full of enemy ink in your path? No worries, the Kraken transforms you into a giant squid that inks the ground with your own ink as it travels. Who’s laughing now?
Character o’ the Week: Sheldon
Splatoon’s friendly neighborhood arms dealer (actual arms sold separately). If you’re looking to upgrade to the latest and greatest ink weapon, swing by Ammo Knights and Sheldon will make sure you leave a happy Inkling.
Octarian o’ the Week: Octosniper
So there you are, rolling out ink and minding your business when you suddenly get hit between the eyes with a big old splotch of ink. Chances are you were in the sights of an Octosniper, a super sneaky shooter who can blast powerful ink shots from a long distance.
