Pete Ross is Clark's classmate and one of his best pals. A true friend to the entire Kent family, Pete proves to be an unfailing ally to Clark when put to the test.
Chloe Sullivan
Chloe Sullivan the intrepid investigative reporter for the Smallville High Torch, is caught between Clark and Lana. Struggling with her unrequited feelings for Clark, Chloe excels in school and never stops searching for answers to the many mysteries in Smallville.
Martha Kent
Martha Kent is Clark's loving adoptive mother whose prayers for a child were answered when Clark arrived from outer space. She and her husband Jonathan carefully guard Clark's secret identity while helping him cope with his emerging powers.
Jonathan Kent
Jonathan Kent, Clark's stalwart adoptive father, strives with Martha to raise Clark as a normal teenager. Protecting Clark from anyone who might exploit his abilities, Jonathan dislikes Clark's friendship with Lex, fearing that the younger Luthor may eventually emulate his father.
Lionel Luthor
Lionel Luthor is Lex's father, a ruthless tycoon who tries to instill his own warriorlike qualities in his son. The Luthors clash in and out of the business arena as Lex fights his destiny.
