Renton Thurston
is a completely normal teenage boy – he doesn’t like school and thinks life stinks. He can pilot a Nirvash type ZERO and has dreams of being a professional lifter (an extreme form of hover-boarding). He's completely devoted to Eureka, a girl who crash-landed in his life, and will do absolutely anything for her.

Eureka
is a lovely young girl, who rarely smiles and almost never laughs. She understands machines better than she does human beings. She always speaks very calmly and directly, and never hesitates to speak her mind. She also used to be part of a military Special Forces unit where she learned to be an LFO pilot.

Holland
is the leader of Gekkostate; an organization that uncovers anti-government activities. He was once a lifting amateur world champion - making him a hero all over the world. In spite of his cool mystique he’s really a pretty ordinary guy.

Talho
is Holland’s partner and the highly skilled pilot of the Gekko. She is very beautiful and smart, but she’s quick tempered and tends to yell a lot. She teases Renton mercilessly; abusing him like an older sister would a younger brother.

Alex Thurston
is Renton’s strict, but loving, grandfather. He very much wants Renton to lead a normal life. Though he is angry at his decision in lifestyle, he is also secretly proud of him.

Stoner
is a professional cameraman who used to work for the military. He takes pictures, even in the heat of battle, and writes articles about the Gekkostate members for the magazine they release called “ray=out.” His personality is like that of a philosopher hippy. He’s sharp and knowledgeable, but low key.

Matthieu
is an LFO pilot with a great passion for life and music. He tends to be pretty laidback -- other than when he’s in battle, or on a ref board, he always seems like he’s a little bored. He’s got a huge crush on Hilda and will do anything she asks.

Hilda
is Matthieu’s partner and another one of the Gekko’s LFO pilots. She’s like everybody’s big sister. She’s the responsible one who makes sure things get done. Hilda has a talent for finding bargains and is usually in charge of the shopping.

Hap
is the second-in-command aboard the Gekko. He’s a friend of Holland’s since childhood and often shares his confidence. He got his nickname because he always has a “happy smile” and he’s a very peace-loving person. But when it’s time for battle he’s cool and collected.

Moondoggie
is one of the Gekko’s crew members. He’s a nice guy who’s extremely talented when it comes to lifting. But he’s extremely shy and has trouble talking to people when he’s not on a board. He’s also got a huge crush on Gidget.

Gidget
She’s the fashion queen of the Gekko who’s got a special talent for lifting. She’s very outspoken and is a bit of a clean-freak. She also has a crush on Moondoggie, who is her complete opposite.

Nirvash Type Zero
is the lateral 2-seater craft piloted by Eureka that also transforms into a robot. Unlike the newer models, this craft has a unique feature – it can operate without a Compac Drive.
