Shinn Asuka
is a member of the ZAFT who dedicates his life to fighting Earth Alliance; who he believes is responsible for the destruction of his family. This traumatic past has left him to struggle with his anger, making him a bit of a hothead.

Athrun Zala a.k.a. Alex Dino
is a pilot, and son of one of the deceased ZAFT Supreme Chairman, Patrick Zala.
As a veteran of the previous war, he still does not know what he’s fighting for, which has made him more of a thinker than a fighter. Despite his inner-turmoil, no one can deny his skills and experience.

Cagalli Yula Athha
Cagalli is the civilian daughter of a leader of the neutral nation Orb. She's spunky and hardheaded, but won’t hesitate to use her power to help her friends. Although she is a Natural, Cagalli has the ability to go into 'Seed Mode' -something thought only to be possible for Coordinators.

Kira Yamato
He is a first generation Coordinator (a Coordinator with parents who are Naturals). He believes in peace and protects anyone who he loves and cares about, especially Lacus Clyne. He prefers to use his combat skills to try to bring an end to the conflict.

Lacus Clyne
Lacus has a sunny disposition and treats everyone she meets with respect and kindness. She is also huge pop star which has made her the idol of the Coordinators. Also, because of her actions to bring about peace during the previous war, she has a lot of political influence among the PLANTs, possibly more than Chairman Durandal himself.

Meyrin Hawke
is crew member on the Minerva, where she serves as a communications controller for its mobile suits. She is the youngest member of the bridge crew, but knows more about the ship's mobile suits and their complex launch procedures than anyone.

Rey Za Burrel
Rey is an elite ZAFT pilot and friends with Shinn Asuka. Rey is also very close to and respectful of Chairman Gilbert Durandal. Rey is also a clone, just like his “other self” Rau Le Creuset.

Neo Lorrnoke
He is a captain in the Earth Alliance who receives unquestioned support from all his subordinates. He is a friendly guy who deeply cares about his subordinates. Could Neo be someone we already know? Only time will tell.

Meer Campbell
She is recruited by Chairman Durandal as a substitute for Lacus Clyne when she disappears. She believes in Durandal's ideals, and rather enjoys impersonating her idol Lacus Clyne if it serves him well.
