Message Board Rules
Here are the rules that we have in place to keep the boards safe and fun for all. All Members are expected to follow these rules:
Rule #1 - No Personal Info
No last names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, school names, team names, teacher names etc.
How we deal with it:
Posting personal info online is dangerous- you can read more about online safety here. We stop this info before it appears on the site, but please don't even try. Submitting posts that you know will just get deleted ties up our moderators from approving valid posts quickly. You will definitely get a warning (via email) and your account will get deleted if you don't stop.
Rule #2 - No Flooding
Please don't submit several posts in a short period of time.
How we deal with it:
Members that continue to flood will be given a warning (via email), and if they still flood the boards their account will be deleted at our discretion.
Rule #3 - No inappropriate language or behaviour
No swearing. Using symbols to represent swearing isn't allowed either. No talking about stuff that others may find offensive. Remember our community is for 6-18 year olds so we need to make sure the content is okay for everyone.
How we deal with it:
Members that post inappropriate content will be given a warning (via email), and if they continue, their account will be deleted at our discretion.
Rule #4 - Be nice
Don't tease, insult or bug other Members or Moderators. Treat others how you want to be treated. Remember - everyone's entitled to their own opinion, so don't criticize others for liking something you don't. It is okay to disagree with someone but it is not okay to bully or harass someone. Bullying is very serious. It's so serious we have an entire page on YTV dedicated to this topic. You should read it right now!
How we handle it:
If your conversations turn from disagreements into bullying, we will delete your account at our discretion. This means: walk away. Don't let it happen or you could lose access to the coolest place for kids online and all of your hard-earned Sitekick® Chips!
Rule #5 - No Websites links
We can't check out all sites to make sure they're appropriate.
How we deal with it:
We delete these posts before they get on the site. Members that continue to post links will be given a warning (via email), and if they still make inappropriate posts, their account will be deleted.
Rule #6 - No posting of Sitekick® Codes
Sometimes a Moderator or Dr. Frantic may post a code, but members may not.
How we deal with it:
We stop these before they get on the site but we will probably give you a warning (via email) if you keep trying. If you continue to do so after getting a warning, your account will be deleted at our discretion.
