What if I don't have my own email address and share one with my parents?
For security purposes, we can't allow the same email address to be used for the parent and child. However, if a parent or guardian has a second email address, it can be used in place of a child's email. If there is no second email address available, we suggest contacting your Internet Service Provider. Most ISPs allow you to have more than one address at no extra charge. Failing that, we suggest the parent sign up for a free web-based email address.
If more than one child is being signed up for a Membership, the parent's email address can be used for each of those accounts.

We will never sell or give any of this information to third parties. Sometimes we may share aggregated info collected from our Polls, however specific Members are never identified.

It takes about 24 hours for your Username to be approved. At that time, an email will be sent to you stating whether it has been approved or declined.

Why does your schedule change so much?
Like most television stations we move or cancel shows to make room for new shows. We try our best to let our fans know when a show is moving, either on-air or through YTV.com. Please remember that all schedules are subject to change without notice.
I thought YTV was for kids 24/7?
When evaluating any programming on YTV, it is important to remember that we are a family network and although we do devote certain daytime hours (9am to 6pm) explicitly to children’s programming, our target audience changes throughout the day to include 2 - 17 year olds and their families. As a national network we work hard to provide a varied schedule that everyone can enjoy!
How can I tell if a show is appropriate for my child?
In order to determine what age group a show is aimed at, we recommend using the V-Chip rating that's displayed on-screen at the beginning of every program to help guide you. Designed to help parents monitor their children's viewing habits, the Canadian Classification rating system uses consistent and clear guidelines to evaluate the content of television programs. The content evaluation is assigned a rating according to the generally accepted stages of child development. A “C” rating is given to programming that is intended for children under the age of 8-years-old, and a “G” rating indicates that the programming is intended for a broad, general audience. Although not designed specifically for children, it is understood that younger viewers may be part of the audience for G rated programs.

How do I send a drawing for the Fan Art section of my favourite show?
You can send your original artwork in an email with an attached file (we only accept .jpg, .gif or .bmp formatted files). Send them to membership@ytv.com. Make sure to include your name and age. If you are sending Fan Art for your favourite YTV show make sure to include what program your drawing is from. Remember your drawings have to be your own original work; nothing downloaded from a website or scanned from a book.

I'm having problems entering a Contest. What do I do?
First of all, double check that you've filled in all the fields for the entry. Do not leave any blank spaces (or any spaces at all actually) in the Phone Number or Postal Code boxes. Also make sure you're not entering any strange characters into the fields, like, special symbols or quotes.
If you have tried all of these suggestions and still cannot enter, please email us at membership@ytv.com and answer the following questions:
What type of browser are you using? Firefox? Internet Explorer? Or another type?
What type of computer do you have? A PC with Windows XP? A Macintosh?
What Contest are you trying to enter?

When are winners of Contests posted?
Contacting winners, completing all required paperwork, and filing the legal documents takes a long time; it can take months before we can post a winner's name. Keep checking the Contests section for the latest.

The contest entry form won't accept my postal code. What's wrong?
You may be experiencing difficulties entering because there is a Google toolbar installed on the computer you are using. Sometimes this toolbar can cause problems when entering postal code information into the appropriate fields. We suggest temporarily disabling the toolbar and entering the contest again.

I can't find an enter button for you contest. What's wrong?
If you have Internet Security software installed on your computer you must ensure the Ad-Blocking feature is turned off in order to properly view the contest page. This feature may prevent the necessary graphics from appearing.

How do I know if I've won a contest?
After the draw for a contest's winners, the winners are notified by either mail or telephone. If you don't receive any notice after about two weeks from a contest's draw date, then you probably didn't win.
We can't tell other people who won the contests before we have notified the winners. If you want to check out the official winners of our contests, the names eventually may be posted on our website. However, it can take a while to get the winners information posted on because we have to receive the appropriate release forms first.

What is HD-TV?
High Definition Television, or HDTV, provides crystal clear, high-resolution images in a wide-screen 16 x 9 format. The images have over 5 times the sharpness compared to standard definition television (SDTV). One big difference between HDTV and analogue TV is that the signal is delivered digitally, assuring perfect images on the screen. HDTV most often includes Dolby Digital® coding to provide the ability for full surround sound through 5.1 channels.

What type of programming do I receive on YTV-HD
YTV-HD offers the same great programming as YTV, a standard definition channel aimed at kids and their families. If a show is crazy, cool, clever and funny, chances are it’s on YTV! Catch shows like SpongeBob SquarePants, iCarly and other family friendly favourites including the latest and greatest movies in High Def!
How much YTV-HD programming is currently available in true HD?
Between 50 to 60% of our programming is in ‘true HD’ and the remainder of our shows are up-converted to HD. The reason not all of our programming is currently available in true HD is because not all movies and series are currently produced in an HD format.

Do I need any extra equipment to get YTV-HD?
