Link's Crossbow Training hits the mark with the Wii Zapper.

It’s a great idea. Along with various extensions to the Wiimote comes the Nintendo Wii Zapper. You insert your Wiimote and nunchuk into a plastic frame that vaguely resembles a gun. The point is that we’re bake to the having a lightgun around. We’re back to the original Nintendo Entertainment System. I’m not sure why it took so long but it’s good that we have a handy little zapper for future Wii games.
I had lots of fun with the Wii Zapper, mainly because it came packaged with Link’s Crossbow Training, a shooting gallery game that is amazing. That’s right, I’m addicted.
The game is a super simple game that ROCK MY SOCKS! I especially loved the target shooting levels. While I wasn’t as as crazy about the levels filled enemies, ‘cause they’re pretty stressful, they were fun too.
The key to the game is to hit all the targets presented to you without missing. This is because there’s multiplier in the game, each time you hit something the value of the item doubles. Soon you’re hitting regular items at 10 and even 20 times their original value!
The game is meant to get you accustomed to the Wii Zapper but it’s pretty captivating in and of itself. You’ll end up tossing Link’s Crossbow Training in with Wii Sports and Wii Play as your party games.
The Crossbow Training is DuckHunt for the Wii. Set in the world of Zelda, you’re presented with plenty of fun and easy shooting galleries as well as extremely difficult one where your targets shoot back at you.
You’re even given two boss battles. Give the game a try and make sure, if you’re thinking about picking up a Wii Zapper, to pick it up bundled with this mini-game.
I liked having the Wii Zapper to play this game but I wasn’t sure how much difference snapping the Mote and nunchuk into the Zapper frame made so I gave the game a shot without it and found that I could move the crosshairs around the screen much quicker but didn’t have anywhere near the amount of control that I had stabilizing the controls with both hands.
The only drawback about the Zapper is that your wrists get sore quite quickly from tensely holding the front trigger. I get about 2-3 hours play before I can’t play anymore. Perhaps the Core Gamer Wii BLASTER, which holds both the Wiimote and nunchuk is a happy alternative but since the Zapper comes with Link’s Crossbow Training and is only $25, I’d HIGHLY recommend picking up the Zapper since the game is easily worth the money alone. I’m totally sold on this accessory/game bundle and at this reasonable price, there’s plenty of multiplayer and single player play for your buck.
