What’s Hot and what’s so totally NOT, this Season

Yes, ‘tis the season to start thinking about what gifts to buy loved ones, when - of course - all you’re really doing is wondering is ….”but what am I gonna get for the Holidays?!” ‘Caus we know it’s all about me, me, me! So, in order to better guide loved ones (and possibly Santa) towards those perfect gifts and away from the…ahem….junk – here’s what’s hot and what’s not, according to our awesome and amazing, trendsetting and fabulous GP reviewers:

So Hot

GP_MrSock

Besides the usual - peace on Earth and all that jazz - I'm gonna list the video game junk on my radar and hope that Santa hasn't maxed out his credit card before he gets to me:

1. A Nintendo Wii. Oops - wait a sec. I've already got one. And gp_Stratego doesn't. And he's jealous. And making friends jealous of your stuff is the true meaning of Christmas.

2. Wiimotes and nunchucks. There are none left in the city where I live. If Wiimotes and nunchucks were food, everyone here would be starving or dead, So it's a good thing that they are not actually food. But I kinda hunger for them like they were.

3. Microsoft Points. I can't bring myself to spend two dollars on crummy Gamertag pictures and costumes for my piñatas, but I'd definitely be able to spend someone else's money on them.

4. Elebits; an electric fairy shooter for the Wii. Because MrSock loves shooting electric fairies.

5. 4-Player Pokémon Puzzle League/Tetris Attacks/Puzzle de Pon. Call it what you want - a rose by any other name would smell as totally awesome. This game exists only in an E3 demo called Nintendo Puzzle Collection, and they have not yet released it because they are mean. I ask for it every year. I cry myself to sleep over it. My desire for it is so strong it causes me to barf egg nog, even though I have not eaten any egg nog. That is some seriously strong desire. Please Santa, go tell Nintendo to make this game for me. Or tell your elves to start learning some programming languages. I need this game, and I will stop at nothing to get it.

Super hot – The Wii. Whether you are smashing your T.V. or your friends, this thing is fun and hard to find.

Hot - Brain Age and Big Brain Academy. These are great value titles for the DS that have a lot of life in them

Hot - Castlevania Portrait of Ruin for the DS – the Castlevania series came back to power with the DS versions and I’m sure the new one won’t disappoint.

Hot – Guitar hero II – a great party game and a great ego-boosting solo event. Just don’t use it if you want to be a professional baseball player.

GP_patches

I’d really like Rayman Raving Rabbids (its so fun), Bomberman for DS (again so fun with 8 people), Trauma Center for the Wii (gross but fun, and full of bad dramatic dialogue), Elite Beat Agents for DS (must....pass….walkie talkie man…..arghh), and Animal Ccrossing (because I don’t have it and its really cute).

GP_Monkey

I would like a Wii, a PS3 and a new Prince of Persia game that’s more on par with the first one… failing that, I’m good with Puyo Pop or Final Fantasy 12.

GP_jennybravo

PS3!!!! - most of all. Wii is the default backup. I could also stand to play Madden NFL 07 and I want to check out Bully and WTF (Work Time Fun) – the last two rated Teen. I wouldn’t cry if an Xbox 360 was under my tree either.

GP_markergreen

I’d love a Wii along with the Zelda game, an XBOX 360 with Viva Pinata or a DS with a few games for all those car rides.
