In actual fact, it's to symbolize his innocence, I believe, because it makes him look like a kid and kids are supposed to be pure and innocent. Story-wise, though, I hav no idea, nor do I know how Yami stretches Yugi to be 'normal' height when he takes over.

If you're wondering why Yami is taller than Yugi (the reason Takahashi did that, that is, not story-wise), it's because Yami's supposed to seem so much more commanding than Yugi, and increased height=increased presence.

that's exactly what i was thinking (finally a Yugioh/anime fan that understands the concepts of why characters would look like that^^)

I dont know. i guess he doesnt eat much. And plus it looks better when hes shorter that everyone else, if he was as tall as everyone else it would mess everythinkg up. I agree with Omega Sephiroth. He is innocent and the child like features make him look so. I mean you don't want a tall burly looking guy to be the innocent one do you? I agree with Omega Sephiroth.
