Not necessarily. Guitar Hero was out first, but I'm about 85% sure that the people who made Rock Band, created Guitar Hero 1 and 2. Thus not a copy, more of just another project for them.
Anyway, I choose Guitar Hero World Tour hands down.
I like the guitar handling better on GHWT, and the notes seem more accurate :/

They are both good, but i liks guitar hero more because the notes give you a little leeway if you hit them too early or too late, LIKE A REAL INSTRUMENT. On rock band you have to play like a robot to do the guitar hammer ons.

Yes that's correct. The original Guitar Hero and Guitar Hero 2 sold their company and created Rock Band and Rock Band 2. Those 4 games are all from the same people. Guitar Hero 3 and Guitar Hero World Tour was bought by Activision, or RedOctane, and they are who run GH now. Essentially, Guitar Hero World Tour copied off Rock Band since the Guitar Hero licence is owned by a new company  Gotta know your facts Just thought I'd help clear that up =)

no one copied anyone they are basically the exact same game, i dont see why people care so much to defend one of them.

So are you going to boycott a game because it "copied" another game. LOLOLOL
Rock Band 2 has a better songlist but GHWT has better gameplay. Just choose which one you value over the other.

I personally like guitar hero better. The instruments are made much better than rockband and it's more realistic.
