If your router is locked then it's probably not going to work.. my router is locked and it doesn't allow me to access Wii internet.

nevermind i found out i need 500 wii points to get internet, lol.
my router is locked, and works.
you might have to do a wii update though

yeah but you can search for a access point enter the code to unlock it and get free wi-fi  ...but the usb stick is faster.
