if your talking about franchises I'd rather have mario exist than the metriod franchise. Sure metriods are fun (metriod II and super metriod being the best by far), but when you take a look at all the great mario games its just sickening. mario 1,2,3, super mario world, mario rpg, marioland1,2&3, mario 64, mario kart, mario kart 64... it just goes on and on. And thats not even including the bad or obscure games like merry men or the donkey kong originals or mario is missing.
