So, be honest. How many of you have been afraid to, or didn't want to searching up foreign music, just because it wasn't in English? Trust me. Your missing out. Imagine in... Belgium, they may have a HUGE popstar, from their country, that is about the equivilant to a bar singer here, because she isn't selling well in the states.

Not only does listening to foreign music good, or makes you a more open minded person, it helps the singers you listen to. Every singer wants to make it in... America. We may not be americans, but we're still great.
Some great foreign bands are:

Tokio Hotel (german)
Daft Punk (French)
Orange Range (Japanese)
UVERworld (japanese)
Flow (Japanese).

So, do you like foreign music?

I can name alot of international music. Im really into music that not everyone listens too. Some would be::

Spanish:: Aventura, Jennifer Lopez's spanish albums, IL DIVO! (im INLOVE with them! They're so romantic:P--but they're not spanish are they? I dont know but I love them alotsmile)
French:: Lara Fabian (her voice is AMAZING), Daft Punk (the original is much better than Kanye's cover, but its not bad either)
Japanese::Oh dont get me started::
Ayumi
Utada
Minmi
THE PILLOWS
Abingon School Boys
Ghanian::alot smile

The thing about international music is that its really different from the music that we're so used to. I like different.

Sometimes I listen to Malice Mizer or Dir en Grey (both Japanese)

But my favourite band, The Mediaeval Baebes, sings in different languages (usually older versions. Like different "versions" of old English, Spanish, Italian, Cornish, most bordering on Latin). They're called MEDIAEVAL (Medieval) for a reason. :P

I doubt people are afraid of foreigen, just they don't get much of a chance top hear it, so they have no idea what to look for right. How can you find a band if you don't know their name and have never heard any o their songs?

I like Project Era's music. It has English in it, but it was largely composed of some sort of latin-like chant. But alas, it appears the Era project has been completed, apparent they were only planning on doing a trilogy of Era CDs and ending it there... Oh well...

With all due respect, jchansfan

Swing(french) is a really good band(our school makes us listen to it, but you get used to it after a while). It also helps if you understand the language the songs are sung in. Dani Bedar(french) is a really good artist(listen to "Ecoute moi donc", if you understand the lyrics, their pretty powerful)

Orange Range, UVERworld, Flow are all really good japanese bands(I don't really understand them all that well, but still).

Long I attended a French school that was in a rather sad state for four years... It was funny they seemed to be under the impression the Swing and Venus 3 were the only two existing French bands... lol... Sad, really... Especially since I loathe Swing...

Han? J'ai jamais entendu parler d'eux autres.... :P

I hardly ever listen to French music... I only know about the really popular Quebec bands... Heh, my 9th Grade Math teacher is in a Quebec band called "Yelo Molo".

German - Rammstein (not a whole lot, but I know a few songs...)
Spanish - The Mars Volta (they sing part Spanish, part English) also the song Me Gustas Tu by Manu Chao is really fun. :P
Japanese - some hide and Dir en Grey and anime theme songs here and there...
My parents listen to Vietnamese stuff sometimes too.

Language really isn't a factor for me, as long as I like the song as a whole. I mean most of the time, I don't really pay attention to the lyrics anyways so it's no big deal if I don't understand :P
