I think the idea of true love is completely lost. The feelings of love only begin to be testable after 3 years, when hormones finally stop playing a role.

I agree. :P I'm sure that it varies from relationship to relationship and the financial situations of the parties involved, but in general I don't think it's fair for the same person to be paying every time. My boyfriend and I always split the costs.

I think it's only fair since the man has to take out a months worth of his paycheck if he wants to get the engagement ring. It can be hard to keep it up when you're saving for something so big. Splitting the cost is the perfect solution.
I also had a larger argument about the bigger issue that we have on this, but I can't find a way to word it where I can have it be posted and still get my point across.
