This year’s Fan Expo was definitely busier as the attendance was much higher than last year. It started off as calm on Friday, extremely busy on Saturday and then winding down on Sunday.

During Friday, I took the time to look at some of the new Beyblade models as well as introducing myself to the Beyblade Metal Fusion voice actors, Jason Deline (Benkei) and Shawn Meunier (a character appearing in an upcoming episode). I also had the opportunity to meet Chris Potenza, one of the voices of Sidekick.

The dealers area was also surrounded by many exhibitions such as the upcoming Tron movie, new video games and comic book samples. But there was also an even mix of manga, DVDs, plushies, and toys to be purchased. I picked up the latest One Piece and DragonBall DVDs sets as well as some Pokemon and tofu plushies and a special One Piece soundtrack. I even managed to get some of the latest and exclusive Transformers.

There were also other areas to explore outside of the dealers area. Fan Expo also had some rooms dedicated to gaming and some additional areas featuring special interest groups.

Tune in next time for part two and see who the anime fans got to meet.
