Anyone like it? I I really like that show I'm only on episode 60ish. Aparently the OVA's are really sad but it doen't have the same ending as it does in the manga. Spoiler warning. Highlight to see[The manga was a happy ending..]End of spoiler. Lol so I'm not gonna watch the OVA's x] My favourite character is Himura Kenshin.

I bought all of the manga and then attempted to watch the Anime, but hated it. I therefore cannot speak for the Anime, yet I do know Manga-ka Watsuki Nobuhirou-san had intended to make bonus stories that were sad. Such as Kenshin and Kaoru dieing of tuberculosis, etc. I'm not sure if they were ever made though. The one I did read wasn't sad at all. It focused on Yahikou and was quite cute.
I can say this, however. The manga is awesome and the ending rocks.

Ruroni Kenshin was great, didnt read the manga though.. the ova's were kinda sad, especially seishouin (sp) what surprized me was that Sejiro seita didnt change from the time he trained Kenshin, till the time he trained Kenji (Kenshins son) my favourite characters would have to be Aoshi Shinomari and Kenshin Himura
Im still surprized that a simple desease was able to kill the great battousai

Yea that was te OVA called Rurouni Kenshin: Seisōhen, but apparently the manga-ka didn't like the fact that it over-sorrowed the ending xD [Wooo for happy endings  ] I liked the manga's ending a lot better <__> the other OVA focused on his childhood..

Actually, Watsuki was very disappointed with the OAV ending because it does a 360 on all of his characters. The Official ending is in the manga, and he explains that he was planning a Kenshin Kaden, which brought us up to speed on what happened with everyone.
*Spoilers*
It ended with Kenji fighting Yahiko for the Sakabato as I recall. It's been awhile since I read the series.
As for OAVs, I liked Trust and Betrayal the most. They were very intense.
my favorite Kenshin character has to be Saito. Chou and Misao are rather close. Then there's also Aoshi, Sano, and Kenshin. But Saito's just to cool ^^.
Back then, Tuberculosis was a very debilitating disease, which killed alot of people.

Yes, I do believe I heard that bit about Kenji and Yahikou, yet with the ending of the manga I am a tad skeptical there. There is also another series about Kenshin as a child called Samurai-X. There was also another OVA about Kenshin's time with Tomoe, yet that was all explained in the manga anyway.
Elvengirl, you are very correct, Tuberculosis was not just 'simple disease' back then. It's death toll was astronomically high. It killed a large number of people. (Also, you put down that they did a 360, might you have meant a 180? ^^
