The way this goes is, every week I will post two game series' that will go head to head. YOU guys vote for which one is better and the one which got the most votes goes to the next round. For example: If I say 'Pokemon vs Resident Evil', you guys would say which one is better. The game that got the most votes would go to the next round. These are the games:
Division 1: Pokemon vs Final Fantasy Super Mario Bros vs Animal Crossing Division 2: Mario Kart vs Metroid Super Smash Bros. vs Mega Man Division 3 The Legend of Zelda vs Resident Evil Mario Party vs Soul Caliber Division 4 The Sims vs Blinx Dance Dance Revolution vs Halo Division 5 Grand Theft Auto vs Harvest Moon Kingdom Hearts vs Fire Emblem
So first is Pokemon against Final Fantasy. Vote which one you like better by June 26th. Thank you and please vote!

Pokemon was revolutionary for its battle system, but it really only came out on portable systems. Final Fantasy has a much larger fanbase and has molded the standards of storylines and rpg's for all time to come. I have o vote for Final Fantasy. It's tunes are also much catchier.

What, no Halo? Well, that pretty much dabs out my existence here.
I'll vote for Final Fantasy. Not because I enjoy it, but I respect that it is a good game.

You have five divisions. That won't work out well as brackets need to be divisible by 4 to even out.
By the way, you basically copied this from GameFAQs, as they have one going on right now.

It's Pokemon vs Final Fantasy first. Not MegaMan. MegaMan isn't coming in like two weeks and, yes, I mean the classic MegaMan.

Y'know, I'm still... still struggling to find how DDR matches up to Halo in... any way, really.
First of all, DDR isn't a shooter. That's mainly, the biggest issue. And DDR does not compare with Halo easily. Because Halo has a story, great multiplayer... DDR is fun, but after a while, bouncing around for hours on end really doesn't prove to be much fun.

I protest against that, Mr 125. Halo really doesn't have much of a storyline, anything it does have sucks compared to almost everything. It really isn't better than ddr in that department. But you are right, you can't compare two diff genres like that.

maybe DDR vs. Karaoke Revolution or guitar hero, somethin along those lines instead of halo halo doesn't have much of story anyways, you better off playing DOOM so, i'll have no verdict on either of these until 'vs.' are organized by the style of genre

Let's look at this from a higher view. Do not take me for a mindless Halo fanboy who bashes games for no apparent reason. Now, I've got DDR and its mats, Halo and its novels/soundtracks.
Story: I beg to differ with the idea of Halo not having a storyline. It's there. But if you just hear a 'basic' version of it, I'll guarantee that it'll sound like an unoriginal sci-fi story. You've actually got to play the game from start to finish. With the novels as well, Halo goes much, much more deeper than people think. As for DDR, it's nonexistant. But for arcade fun, I guess story doesn't count. Graphics: Uncomparable. Arrows, to anything Halo visually? Not going to happen. Sound/Music: Halo sports a brilliant original soundtrack composed by Marty O'Donnell, which deems Halo as having one of the best videogame scores. It adds to the drama and tension to the story of Halo, and action of a good firefight. DDR has a nice compilation of techno beats and the like, some of which are very good. But for originality points, Marty deserves a lot. Replay Value: Break out the mats and turn it up loud, DDR is a lot of fun with a night to waste and a few friends. With Halo, it really depends which game you've played, which variant, and who you've played with. Halo 1/2 both have strong multiplayers, which can probably keep players entertained for... well, years. Halo 2 nets the title of "Most played Xbox Live title to date" and Bungie is still pumping out new gametypes to keep the playing fresh and exciting. I myself prefer to hook up four Xboxes and go with the LAN thing. 16 players will never get old for me.
In conclusion, DDR can't compare to any "shooter characteristics" (graphics, story) and Halo is not to be compared with the sort of 'party' games like DDR/Guitar Hero (not meaning to be negative).

It's not a comparison contest. It's like: if you had the choice of playing only DDR or Halo, which one would you choose. Would you choose DDR or Halo. It's not how are they the same/different. Stick with the order. Halo isn't coming in a loong time. Final Fantasy won. Now it's Super Mario Bros. against Animal Crossing.
SUPER MARIO BROTHERS VS. ANIMAL CROSSING

Mr 125,
I have to agree with you. DDR and Halo shouldn't even be categorized together. They are two entirely different genres of gaming. I personally prefer DDR. Why? Because it's a fun party game, and it helps improve your hand eye coordination, and concentration. Don't forget that it also helps get or keep you in shape. Many people who have played DDR for a long period of time say that they can run a couple of miles without getting winded when before they could never do that. A healthy and fun video game. About the graphics, yes Halo has much better graphics, but DDR doesn't need great graphics. It's basically just arrows that you really need. They put some nice designs, in the backround during songs though. It really just depends what type of game you prefer.
Anyways, Super Mario Bros. vs. Animal Crossing?
Super Mario Bros. because I played that all the time when it first came out for N64. I have beaten the game for both Game Cube and N64. It's classic.

Perfectly agreeable. I was just refering to the storyline, I was not comparing anything else. The novels are not written by the makers of Halo, so it would be the writer's skill that put together the story. It would count as a seperate storyline to the game, so the game's storyline is still pretty bad. Other than that, though, you're right. DDR doesn't technically compare in other categories.
