Um yeah well I was just wondering dose Naruto ever reach his goal of becoming the 5th Hokage? And while we're on the subject dose Sasuke ever succeed in killing Itachi? These questions just popped into my head for some reason as I was reading the chapter where Naruto defeats Neji in the chunin exam finals and afterward when Hinata's father Hiashi came and told Neji what really happened when his father died years ago. Okay I'm babbling anyway please answer if you can!

actually tsunade becomes the 5th hokage since the 3rd dies, itachi pwns sasuke when they meet and shikamaru is the only one to become a chuunin.
in the later mangas ive heard that garra becomes the new kazekage, neji becomes a jounin, naruto misses the second chunnin exam and for some reason naruto can never become the hokage of konoha

We're currently not at that point in the series yet. Tsunade is currently the 5th Hokage. Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura are currently on their way on becoming their generation's Sannin. And Itachi still out-classes Sasuke (considering that Naruto is just a bit stronger than Sasuke and even he had trouble with the Itachi clone).

ACtually, sasuke goes away to orochimaru to gain more strength to kill itachi,
and In the manga theres are 2 new ppl to replace kakashi and sasuke, Sai and Yamato... forgot which place it goes >.< So no, naruto sasuke and sakura arent together to become sannin, because sasuke almost killed naruto during there fight at the valley of the end

Krabbypatties - Since Shikamaru was the only one to become a chuunin, I'd classify that as passing the Chuunin exams.
Kankourou and Temari are also jounin.

It is a given that Team 7 is going to replace the Legendary Sannin at the end of the series. I'd personally prefer to see the series end with Sasuke dieing. (If Itachi lived, it be even better, but somehow I don't see that happening *sniffle*)
