Jay- Z hands down, Eminem is a talented rapper thats for sure but in my opionion he is also the most overrated in the industry, Jay- Z has been consistintly been putting out amazing CDs (with the exception of Kingdom Come) while Eminems CDs have had a signifigant drop in quality in recent years and when both rappers are at there best I would sooner take Jay-Zs The Black Album over Eminems The Eminem Show This.
Could not say that better myself.

When they were at their peak (Black Album versus Marshall Mathers LP for example) I'd take Eminem, but for complete career it's Jay-Z. Jay-Z has been more influential and has been way more consistent (all of Eminem's albums since Relapse have been huuuuge disappointments). Also because Eminem's white he has gotten so much more popularity and credit than he has deserved. He also did a song with Bruno Mars, which is just sad.
