k where i play theres magic the gathering tournaments b4 the yugioh tournaments. I hate when guys come up to u and say yugioh is the dumbified version of magic or its time to duel ( i place this card face down and i summon the dark magician)something like that from the tv series. EVEN THO I DONT REALLY WATCH IT AT ALL just the card game. Cant say nothing actually back at them cause theres more of them then us yugioh players. ( afriad of getting jumped)

walks out of the store, turns slightly to left and hears get him. ( stampede coming at ya)

While I think that people should play any card game they want and those Magic players have no right to diss on the Yu-gi-oh card game, it is the truth though that Magic the Gathering requires more strategy than Yu-gi-oh. Magic the Gathering was the first card game of it's kind to come out, and others soon followed in it's footsteps, such as the Pokemon card game, Yu-gi-oh, Duel Masters, Dragon Ball Z, Lord of the Rings and so on. I'm gonna take an excerpt from Edo on explaining how the Yu-gi-oh card game is broken and that Magic requires more strategy. Which is why I'm glad that the bans will be coming out soon so more various decks can become viable in competitive play. There's one little thing I hate to break to everyone. Some already know, some don't, and some are in complete denial. So, here's what it is:

The Yugioh card game is very broken.

Surprise, everyone! In Yugioh, there is VERY little resource management. Many games, such as Magic: The Gathering, have resource management in the form of "mana"; you can't play certain cards unless you have enough resource to pay its cost. Yugioh doesn't have this kind of basic resource. True, there are sacrifices, Life Point payments, discarding cards from your hand, removing cards in your Cemetery from the game, etc. However, it doesn't balance out the fact that cards have no initial resource cost to play them (a la the aformentioned mana), and the resources that ARE present are plentiful, and easy to come by and/or get around. In other words, there's no real limit to what you can do, so there's nothing to manage. (Which is one of the reasons why some players who go from Yugioh to Magic have a hard time jumping in.) Straight from Edo.
