Yugi dicovers Yami Yugi at the end of episode 24 when he is dueling Kaiba.
Yugi has Kaiba on the ropes after using his Arrow of Light to fuse his Mammoth Graveyard with Kaiba's Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon, making Kaiba's Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon lose 1200 attack points per turn. Also, Yugi has Kuriboh and Multiply on the field making an unstoppable defence. Then Yugi summons Celtic Guardian after Kaiba's Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon has a low enough attack strength, Yugi's Celtic Guardian destroys two of Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon's heads and is about to destroy the third head but Kaiba stands and the edge of the castle tower stating the if Yugi attacks the force from the blow might knock him off the edge. A force inside Yugi's Millenium Puzzle makes Yugi attack. Yugi uses all of his strength to call off the attack but on Kaiba's next turn he attacks Yugi's Celtic Guardian which makes Yugi's life points turn to 0. In the next episode, Yugi remains stuck inside his memories. Yugi wakes up just before Tea beats Mai to give Yugi enough Star Chips to face Pegasus to save Grandpa's soul.
