i think what capricorn is trying to say is that you can say "No, sorry. I don't like this singer/band/group" and exit conversation immediately, but she's getting annoyed by people just jumping in and saying that "EWWWW! NOO! So-and-so SUX! I DUNT NO HOW PPLZ CAN LISTEN 2 MUSIC LIKE DIS!". i get pretty annoyed too. you can say why you don't like a musician, but don't say negative comments for no reason.

samuel_money....there's a huge difference between expressing an opinion and just down right hating and then not giving a reason any further than "They suck!1 why? THEY JUST DO BECAUSE I SAY SO!11 >:o".

Well, if you can't take the criticism, then don't expect a topic without it. Not everyone likes the same people or same thing. I don't think its fair that people can't express why they don't like a certain band or singer, and why its considered a bad thing to do. Its the internet, obviously some people don't like the things you like. Most of the time, they have a reason, and you don't respect their reason.. After that , you go and start bashing them, telling them to leave just because they don't like your favorite singer. Well I say, suck it up, no offense, I think we all have a freedom of speech. Maybe for once, you should know why, "Hannah Montana" isn't the greatest singer ever..

haha, nice mr 125, bravo =) meh, its annoying but i listen to so much that i've gotten use to people being weirded out by my music. =) but i do see your point, for people who love metal(and they will pretty much never stop loving it) and people start saying it sucks and ewwww and what's wrong with your brain? it will realllly get them angry, beleive me =P

I agree, respect is important. And that goes both ways too, for those who like a band and those who dislike it. Saying "OMG I LOVE FOB, If you dont like fob you don,t know music" is just as bad as saying "Eww FOB sucks, you have no taste". We should be allowed to express our POV, whether it's good or bad, as long as we don't start attacking others.

I know some people of a certain age tend to take a negative opinion on their favorite artists as a personal attack. It's not.

This is a good topic and everyone should know to respect other peoples styles of music and people's views. Yes, when the band/singer first started playing they knew haters were coming but still, no one likes to be hated.
I try not to use "hate" or "ewww". Just either dont reply or say that you dont listen to them.
i used to bash other bands, and now i stopped since i realized that i'd dislike it if other people wrote rude comments about the bands i like. part of the point is, rude comments are unwanted and evil. It should be considered spam if someone went up to a topic just to say "EWWW".

ok,this topic is about opinions.

i've noticed that alot of people are bashing other people because they like other stuff.
